Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican musician who was born into a musical family. When she was a kid, she listened to many classical music and older Boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana enjoys tangos and drama and opera. After singing with her mom, she started more serious training in vocals at age 16, under the direction of the renowned Mexican tenor FlavioBecerra. She furthered her training in music through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous chamber and opera choirs. When she moved into America, United States, she performed as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2002 she moved to southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo with traditional Latin American music at private occasions. Alongside being an instructor and performer in the local area the passion for arts and music keeps her involved in a range of initiatives. Ana is also a previous participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that with her performance her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she can instill a passion, particularly for the young generation, for keeping this music in the present.
